What do I actually need to bring to the hospital? 

The hospital will give you some basic items and you may find you don't want or need a few of the items below.  However, depending on the length of your stay, many of these will help to make you more comfortable. Pick and choose what makes sense for you!

For Labor

1. Exercise Ball for laboring

2. Chapstick

3. Hair Ties

4. Camera (or cell phone camera)

5. Birth Oil for massage during labor

6. Water Bottle

7. Chargers: Phone, Camera

If allowed: snacks!

1. Pillow from home

2. Nipple Cream *expressed breastmilk rubbed on your nipples also heals them!

3. Nursing top

4. Sitz Bath Soothing Herbal Spray

5. Comfortable Pants

6. Nursing Bra

7. Hairbrush

8. Robe

9. Socks

10. Slippers

Other: Toothbrush and Toothpaste

1. Bathing Suit (him)/(her) in the event that you labor in the tub or shower and they want to join you.

5. Carseat *If you will be leaving the hospital by car, either your own or someone else's, you MUST have a carseat installed.
